Avoid!!!!

AVOID!!! the pictures do not show the run down rooms in serious need of a refurb to get it to 3 stars! The worst bit was the noise! We booked through a 3rd party so was not made aware there was a beer garden/ nightclub directly outside our window! This went on until 2am! And to finish it off we had items taken out of our rooms! If your idea of a great stay is constant noise, banging, parties. Then this is the perfect place for you!

the hotel was in the perfect location, just close enough to all the best places yet far enough away for it to be an ideal starting place. the huge outside area is brilliant with screens showing sports all day long. we were on a stag do and so the rooms were just somewhere to put our heads down for a few hours. however the room we had (for 3 people) was very spacious. because it was located at the rear and on the ground floor, there was noise from the nightclub in the basement but this isn't anything the hotel hides from, and in fact does mention this everywhere. other members of the stag had rooms higher up and didn't mention any noise either from the front or from the rear. the staff are amazing, i will mention a few in particular Tara, Dan & Jimmy. they were very polite and helpful throughout the Saturday evening (early Sunday). i am sure there were others but i didn't get your names. been a stag do we were very loud and boisterous probably more then others and i do apologies for that, however the staff handled us with patience and tolerance. only reason for 4 and not a 5 would be because if a family gets one of the lower floors on a weekend they may struggle with the extra noise of the nightclub.

Great overnight stay with breakfast

Great night in a family room, two adults two kids. One double bed and two singles; proper single beds, not the fold out ones some hotels put in for family rooms. Great nights sleeps all round, room 316. Staff were great; got recommendations from reception for somewhere to eat, and they booked us a taxi to the airport for when we checked out. Housekeeping staff also very friendly, as were the wait staff in the restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast was lovely. No complaints at all for a night in Dublin and an overnight stay to end our holiday, surprised to have seen other reviews that are not so favourable. Good service, good food and a good sleep are priorities for us, so the fact that a few of the furnishings are a bit tired was not a big deal.

We were catfished by the photos

Don’t go here! We were catfished by the photos! The room we booked online was bright, airy, had two big windows, wasn’t ultra modern but was nice and contemporary and was supposed to have 1 bed. We got given the keys to a small dark dingy room with 2 beds squeezed into it - one small prison window, ripped and bubbled carpet, cracked sink, stained shower, damaged furniture, dirty walls, dodgy painting and decorating compatible to a dodgy intercity landlords handywork. And it wasn’t the cheapest hotel available either! We checked out immediately and requested a refund. We booked a hotel (Iveagh Garden Hotel) on the same road, a 40 second walk away for only €20 more and let me tell you it was 500% better and also included the best breakfast I’ve ever had in Ireland. Honestly, even on a budget try justify the little extra more and check out the Iveagh. Obviously the offers depend on availability but you really really really can get a better hotel than this. If you’re stuck for options on a stag or hen do you want somewhere as questionable as the decisions you’re gonna make on your night out then by all means book away.

Nightmare Sleepless stay.

1/5

We had a nightmare one night stay at Harcourt Hotel. We only needed a room to sleep in for the night after a fleeting visit to the City, and an early flight in the morning. However, this hotel is situated right next to a Nightclub, with an open garden. The noise was shocking, and we didn’t get not one minutes sleep before we had to leave at 4am. That wasn’t the worst of it. I spoke to reception on leaving, who wasn’t remotely interested, and was told to ring back. Nearly every other day for the next 2 weeks or so rang to speak to a manager, only to be fobbed off, with a range of excuses, the manager isn’t here, manager is off sick, the other manager is dealing with your complaint, customer services are dealing with your complaint etc. Each phone call was costing me over £4 for each call from England. Eventually I gave up, and hence now I’m leaving a not too pleasant, but honest review. If you want a good nights sleep, do not stay at the Harcourt, or its sister hotels next door.
